Milo is 3 1/2 months now, smiling and making lots of dolphin-squeal noises. He's using the pugubop/bouncer thingy pictured here and jumping up and down, trying to to do sit ups, and enthralled with watching Fergus. We'll hopefully be starting music class in late September and swimming classes sometime around then too. We're still waiting for a real chuckle, although I think some of his squealing might qualify as laughter.
Differences, real or imagined, between Milo and Fergus: Milo took to feeding from a bottle instantaneously -- I seem to remember worrying that Fergus would starve because he didn't like feeding from the bottle for quite a while. Milo goes through bottles like a champ. Milo also still seems quite happy to sleep in his crib the majority of the night, a big surprise for us. I usually just put in him in the crib around bedtime and he, (gasp) actually goes to sleep until the wee hours in the morning.
Fergus shows some interest in Milo, and will introduce him to third-parties as his brother, but is much more interested in peers. We went to an rc airplane contest last weekend that included an electric night-flying session (led lights on the planes, very pretty), and Fergus spent the entire time chatting up a 6 year old girl named Dally and eventually (it took a while) won her over.
We're gearing up for Fergus' preschool start in September and I went to a mandatory meeting the other night and have a to do list. Fergus' name is already up on a little cubby. He's in a class of about 20 kids, which I think he'll enjoy. In the meantime, we've been reinforcing potty-training by having him run around commando.
We also have a black cat that is trying to adopt us. It basically lives in our front yard, curling up on the chair by our door. Jason is fighting it, but I'm going to have to take it to the vet soon because Fergus is petting it.
Happy Birthday Jason!
